- Super high strand count cryo-treated "Nucleotide" Ohno continuous cast 6N copper (OCC) wire with soft, flexible polyethylene insulation. The Ohno copper casting process developed in the 1980s uses heated molds to form the copper into crystals of hundreds of feet in length, preventing crystal junctions and impurities that cloud the signal and pushing purity beyond 99.9999%. Besides making the copper physically stronger, the Ohno process brought immeasurable benefits to the world of audio, in terms of producing a natural sound with shocking detail and ultimate neutrality. No "high purity copper" of unknown quality in our cables, no prejacketed microphone cable or enamel magnet wire masquerading as an audiophile product. We also do not believe in using silver-plated copper in headphone cables as it leads to unnatural, scratchy treble and a hollow, ringing midrange with compromised detail - but as our cables are fully custom, we will install the wire of your choosing.
